[MY] Road to TLC 2017: The complete rundown!

Update 1: As we are looking into better venues to carry out our tournaments, there will be a change in dates for the Semi-Pro Cup, TLC Group Stage and TLC Playoffs. Please refer to the infographic/important dates table for the changes.
Update 2: We're aware of concerns regarding the seedings for TLC, we would like to clarify that we have privately approached each of the teams from last season's TLC if they would like to retain their seed. Seven of the team captains' have personally informed us that they will be letting go of their seed and will be joining the tournament with new rosters.

We are only days away from another pulsating season in League of Legends! Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a rising star, now is the time to put your training into practice. This is where your journey begins! For the 2017 campaign, we’ve decided to up the ante in many ways; most notably the overall prize pool which is now worth more than RM150,000! On 19 November, 2016, the road to Malaysia’s premier League of Legends division will officially commence. The nation’s best teams will endure a long and eventful journey in what could be an electric Road to TLC MY 2017: Who will rise when Legends collide? 


HOW CAN I QUALIFY FOR TLC 2017?

IMPORTANT NOTE: TLC seeding slots revoked for Dulcet Essence (now Orange Esports), Swestic and Runaways due to major roster changes -- Kuala Lumpur Hunters (KLH) are the ONLY existing team from TLC MY 2016 to retain their seed in TLC MY 2017.

Hence, all other Malaysian teams must qualify for TLC via the tournament rules and qualification rounds, below:

Novice Cup [19 - 26 November 2016]

The first step en route to TLC, the Novice Cup (NC) is an amateur BO1 tournament held across 8 venues in Malaysia. Each venue consists of two rounds whereby the 1st and 2nd placed teams of will move on to the Semi Pro Cup (SPC). A total of 32 teams (16 teams x 2 Rounds).


Semi Pro Cup [10 - 11 December 2016]

The SPC, Group stages and Playoffs will be hosted at offline venues. A total of 32 teams will fight for 15 qualifying slots in TLC (final 16th slot given to Kuala Lumpur Hunters). 


TLC 2017 [Groups: 5-15 January 2017 | Playoffs: 9-19 February 2017 | Finals: TBC]

The Top 16 Malaysian teams will fight for the domestic League of Legends title, at a venue yet to be announced. Only the Top 4 teams will retain their spot for the season after, whereas the other teams will be relegated once more.
